SCHEDULES: Updates Posted

Coaches,

I have uploaded a single PDF of the rest of the season.  Changed games are highlighted in RED.  Please note that week 3 games are SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23rd.  Please notify your parents of changes as soon as possible.  I realize that the games step on many church services and we wanted to avoid this if possible, however, it was either shorten the season and only have 7 weeks of games or double up a weekend.

WEATHER: Finally Things Are Looking Good

Not that I want to jinx it, but it looks like we finally have a few days, including this weekend of good weather. The fields are drying out and hopefully it stays this way for the rest of the season. All necessary game moves and time changes have been completed and are headed to coaches.

GAME ON! (A few moved…)

Good news!  Games are on for tomorrow and Sunday!  If you have not already heard from me by phone, you are playing as scheduled.  We had to move a couple of games from LD’s Braeburn field to the afternoon at our fields due to – you guessed it – flooding.

We’ll get this season finished… honest, we really will…

Thanks,

-Dave

FIELDS: Open for Practice

All fields are open as of 2PM Thursday. There are some stray showers in the area this afternoon and Vanatta is very close to being unplayable. Please use your best judgement should we get much more in the way of rain today.

SCHEDULES: Make Up Games

The weather continues to create havoc for both practices and games. Thanks to everyone for your continued patience and understanding. Here is where we are in things:

Keller Fields – as you may have seen in the news, Keller is expected to be unavailable for the rest of the year. SYSA has offered up its fields to LD for all games for the duration of the season. Coaches are being notified individually of their affected games as they are moved. We are trying to keep things as organized as possible for time windows and field locations.

Week 1 Games (9/10-11) – games will be played November 5-6 at their schedule times and locations (except those scheduled for Keller)

Week 3 Games (9/24) – U6 played as scheduled on the 25th. U8, U10 and U12 games will be made up on Sunday, October 23rs. Some game times will be adjusted due to field availability. Individual coaches will be notified as soon as possible.

Festival – the festival is tentatively scheduled for November 12-13. With the loss of the Keller complex, we are working on options for alternate locations to still make this happen, however, it is possible the festival will have to be cancelled this year. More details to come.

PICTURES: As Scheduled Sunday

Pictures will take place as scheduled Sunday. Please help us keep things moving smoothly by arriving a few minutes early to allow for your team to be ready to go.

NO GAMES SATURDAY

The Township called and asked that we not take the field tomorrow. While I was actually looking forward to the kids having a good time in the rain, they provide the fields to us and we are very grateful for that. Stay tuned for reschedule information.

Pictures are still planned for Sunday.

UPDATE: The Weather Is At It Again

As before, Mother Nature seems determined to interfere with our soccer season. The forecast is for up to two inches of rain between now and Saturday night. That being said, soccer is a play-in-the-rain sport… Assuming its safe to do so. To be honest, once the kids get over being wet, they love it. They get soaked and muddy and slide all over. Parents, not so much because they have to get soaked, and then clean up the mud from the kids.

Assuming dangerous conditions do not exist (flooding, lightning, standing water on the fields…) all games will be played as scheduled, and if necessary, in the rain. Temperatures will be good so we’ll make the best of it.

In the event of a full-club cancellation, information will be posted here and coaches will be contacted to notify parents. Fields will be inspected first thing Saturday morning (7am) to determine if they are safe for play (and roads if it comes to that).

Parents and coaches, if you do not hear from someone, and nothing new is posted here, assume your game is on.

Coaches, if you arrive to your game and conditions have deteriorated, please let me know right away and confer with your opposing coach on making a local decision for your game.

Thanks,

Dave

Edit/ pictures are still scheduled for Sunday as planned as well. More information will be posted and disseminated through coaches if we should need to reschedule.

PICTURES: This Weekend

Just a quick reminder that pictures are this Sunday. Your child’s coach should have already provided you with the order form and time slot for your team’ pictures. Please help move things along by arriving EARLY and having your forms filled out ahead of time.

Thanks.

Opening Day (redux)

Good luck to all teams today, please call or email me with any issues that might come up.

When the Board approved long sleeve shirts for everyone, we had no idea they would be put to good use so early in the season. Despite being a bit chilly, the weather looks great this weekend.

Have fun!
